TNC is a global conservation nonprofit active in 72 countries (inc. all 50 states of the USA). With over a million members, TNC has protected more than 119m acres of land and thousands of miles of rivers worldwide, operates more than 100 marine conservation projects globally, and has assets totaling about $7 billion. Organized into regional and state operating units, TNC operating units contribute to advancing four global priorities: Tackle Climate Change; Protect Land & Water; Provide Food & Water Sustainably; Build Healthy Cities.
The Pennsylvania chapter has an annual budget of $6.5 million. About 100k acres are protected in the state, of which 82k are managed by TNC and a further 68k bound by other agreements. 40 staff are located in Harrisburg, Long Pond, Conshohocken, Williamsport and Philadelphia, supported by a board of trustees and 31,000 members.
