TNC is a global conservation nonprofit active in 72 countries (inc. all 50 states of the USA). With over a million members, TNC has protected more than 119m acres of land and thousands of miles of rivers worldwide, operates more than 100 marine conservation projects globally, and has assets totaling about $7 billion. Organized into regional and state operating units, TNC operating units contribute to advancing four global priorities: Tackle Climate Change; Protect Land & Water; Provide Food & Water Sustainably; Build Healthy Cities.
The Pennsylvania and Delaware Chapter has an annual budget of $8 million, and 50 staff located in Delaware (Wilmington and Milton) and Pennsylvania (Harrisburg, Long Pond, Conshohocken, Williamsport and Philadelphia). This chapter protects about 133,000 acres of land in the two states, and advances a strong conservation agenda affecting rivers, bays, diverse lands, the Great Lakes and coastal ecosystems. The organization is supported by a board of trustees and 33,000 members.
