VICE PRESIDENT OF DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNICATION
m/Oppenheim Associates is assisting The Village Family Services in the search for a new Vice President of Development & Communications. For more information, please review the complete Position Description.
Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President will shape the organization’s overall fund development and communications strategy, orchestrate and guide the direct solicitation activities of others in the organization, and will him or herself directly solicit donors. This leader’s initial objective is to orchestrate an increase in contributed revenue from current levels of about $350k (about 2% of the annual budget) to a level of $1.5m (about 10% of the annual budget), and must have significant experience with annual, capital, planned giving and mass outreach campaigns. In addition to developing major gifts from individuals, the Vice President should have experience in developing government and foundation grants. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are a must.
The Village Family Services is one of Los Angeles’s leading providers of comprehensive social and behavioral health services for children, youth and families. The Agency served almost 3000 children, youth and adults in the 2015/2016 fiscal year, has a budget of just over $15 million. The Vice President will orchestrate a full-court-press effort to drive significant increases in contributed revenue.
