BUSINESS MANAGER

m/Oppenheim Associates is assisting The Institute for the Study of Knowledge Management in Education (ISKME) in the search for Business Manager. The Business Manager will be an entrepreneurial, hands-on, systems-driven leader to help an organization that runs on many tracks develop a thriving and sustainable model for growth, and to operate effectively. Located in Half Moon Bay, CA, ISKME’s mission is to improve the practice of continuous learning, collaboration and change in the education sector. It conducts social science research, develops research-based innovations, and facilitates innovation that improves knowledge sharing in education. Among other things, ISKME is known for its award-winning OER Commons initiative and its annual Big Ideas Fest, a gathering of education stakeholders in designing the future of education. ISKME works at the forefront of understanding how developments in open source, social networking, and knowledge collaboration impact K-20 educational practice.

ISKME has been pursuing the following objectives since its founding:

  • Research and Development: Fueling the core of ISKME’s work, research and development efforts produce new frameworks and models that lead to transformative teaching and learning worldwide. 
  • Open Education: Open and distributed knowledge sharing tools accelerate collaboration and learning in education; tools and services support teaching and learning through open access solutions ca internet casino and practices. 
  • Field-Building: Building the capacity for large-scale educational change through innovative professional learning opportunities and design-thinking workshops that catalyze action.

The annual operating budget of ISKME is $2M, of which 70% is contributed revenue and 30% is earned revenue. There is a team of over 15 smart, creative, curious, and committed people who work both onsite and virtually.
