Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles (BBBSLA) seeks an innovative, entrepreneurial Director of Marketing to lead marketing, communications, branding and public relations that will drive awareness, program participation and fundraising for one of the largest affiliates in America. Reporting to the President & CEO the Director of Marketing (DM) will manage existing corporate partnerships and prospect to identify new companies that would be a good fit for BBBSLA; create an outreach strategy, develop customized pitches and approaches, and lead presentation meetings; negotiate partnership terms and contracts. In close collaboration with BBBSLA’s leadership, the DM will drive the strategic plan of the organization to grow and diversify revenues to serve more youth increase the diversity and number of donors with sharp focus on online fundraising.  This position also serves as institutional brand manager for messaging and visual communications, internally and externally.

Walt Disney and Meredith Willson (author of “Music Man”) founded Big Brothers of Greater Los Angeles in 1955 to help ensure the well being of boys growing up without fathers in Los Angeles. 20 years later, three intrepid young women formed Big Sisters of Los Angeles addressing the equally compelling need for girls and in 2001, the two agencies merged to become Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles. Today, BBBSLA is one of the largest affiliates of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (Dallas, TX) with a professional staff of 32, an annual budget of approximately $3M+ servicing 1,500 at-risk children and youth (ages 6-18) annually. The organization strives to improve the lives of at-risk youth and positively transform LA’s most challenging neighborhoods and schools by matching children and youth with carefully-screened, professionally supported adult volunteer mentors and then delivering evidence-based, meticulously crafted programs that change the lives of these children facing adversity for the better, forever.
